How do I create multiple charges at the same time?

Instead of creating one charge at a time, you can use the Batch Charge feature to create all the charges at once.

Go to Accounting > Accounts Receivable > Batch Charge.

Select the Property and enter an Amount.

For the Distribution Method, select a method to distribute the amount across the property. For more information about distribution methods, see below.

In the Charge Details section, select a Charge Code, and in the Notes field, enter a brief description of the charge. This note will be copied to each charge.

Click Calculate. The screen lists the primary owners at the property.

Enter or review the amount for each owner, and click Post. Breeze creates the charges.

To view one of the charges, click any row in the bottom half of the screen.

You can see that the charge was created by the Batch Charge feature (the Reference is "BatchCharge") and the note was copied over from the filter.

Other Distribution Methods

The Batch Charge feature can be used in other ways, depending on the distribution method.

If you want to divide an expense equally among the units owned within a property (for example, a tax bill), select Even.

If you want to charge all the units owned the same amount (for example, a special fee), select Flat.

If you want to determine the amount for each unit owner manually, select None.

If you want to use the ownership percentage to determine the amount, select %Common or Shares depending on the type of property.
