What are account trees?

Breeze Premier allows you to use custom account trees. This article defines account trees and explains the difference between a standard account tree and a custom account tree.

Definitions

In Breeze, the Financial Reports are based on account trees. The tree determines which G/L accounts are used in the report, the order they are presented in, and how they are displayed. In other words, the account tree filters the information in the G/L so that the report works as intended.

Breeze includes a set of standard account trees that are fine for most cases. When you run a Financial Report, you don't have to select a standard account tree; Breeze uses the appropriate tree by default.

However, if you want the report to display the information in a different way--for example, you want to combine a number of income accounts into a single account or show the account numbers in a different format--you can create a custom account tree and use it when you run the report.

To use a custom account tree

When you complete the report filter, select the custom account tree in the Account Tree field.

If you leave the Account Tree field blank, Breeze will use the standard account tree that was designed for that report.
