How do I edit payables?

What you can edit on a payable depends on its status.

Yes

Note: The Reclass function changes the expense account on posted and paid payables. It is similar to editing the payable, but it does more -- it creates a journal entry to move the expense to a different account.

To edit an unposted, unpaid payable

To open an unposted payable, you have to open the batch screen first and then select the payable from there. Go to Accounting > Batches. Open the batch and the payable.

Unposted payables display the Unposted Batch flag in the upper left-hand corner and the Edit icon (the pencil) on the right.

When you click the Edit icon (the pencil), all the fields become editable.

Click Save when you are finished.

To edit a posted, unpaid payable

To edit a posted payable, go to Accounting > Payables. Breeze displays a list of payables. Locate the one you want to edit and open it.

Click the Edit icon.

The following fields become editable:

  • Invoice #

  • Cash Account

  • Notes

  • Check Memo from Inv. With this option selected, Breeze will print the content of the Notes field as the Memo on the check.

To edit a paid payable

On a paid payable, you can only edit the Notes field.

Go to Accounting > Payables. Breeze displays a list of payables. Locate the one you want to edit and open it.

Click the Edit icon (the pencil).

Edit the Notes field and click Save.
